Personal Computers are very much like passenger aircraft... if they don't have regular maintenance, they tend to crash.


Proactive PC & Network Maintenance Plan
Due to the complexity of today's computer systems and to ensure uninterrupted and efficient operation, it is vital that they be monitored and serviced several times a year. We offer a Proactive PC and Network Maintenance Plan that is designed to perform a "recipe" of proven services and activities on your computers and networks. These scheduled services provide the opportunity to catch problems or impending hard drive failures before they occur. This usually prevents potentially disastrous data loss and unscheduled system downtime. In the event that unscheduled problems might arise, most times the severity of those occurrences is lessened because the computer system has been being monitored and serviced.

Fees Per PC:
1 PC $60/quarter for each PC
2 - 5 PCs $50/quarter for each PC
6 - 10 PCs $45/quarter for each PC
11 - 20PCs $40/quarter for each PC

Clients who enter into an agreement with us for Proactive PC and Network Maintenance will have an assessment performed on their computers 4 times per year. The standard hourly consulting fee will be reduced for the duration of the agreement.
During each scheduled assessment, the following activities will be performed on each computer:

We will Evaluate, Supervise and Maintain:
* Fine tuning of Computer & Network performance
* Anti-virus & Anti-spyware/adware software
* Data file backup hardware & software
* Shared Network components
* Internet access & e-mail accounts
* Critical Computer & Network components

Also, we will:
* Remove unnecessary or unwanted programs and files.
* Evaluate, replace and retire hard drives prior to failure, if possible.
* Install, uninstall, or upgrade hardware, software or new equipment.
* Perform any other required or requested tasks.

A very important part of our maintenance "recipe" is to leave your computer turned on when you are not using it. In the "old days" of personal computer usage - it was a good idea to turn off the computer when not in use. Times have changed. Computers have become very complex and sophisticated devices. They are in fact tools that allow us to do various tasks with much more speed and accuracy than is humanly possible within the same time frame. Several of the items in our "recipe" are setup to occur daily - when the computer is not being used by you. This way, when you are ready to use the computer, it will be ready to work for you at its very best performance level. So, at night, we setup the computer to:
* Download updates and scan for viruses, adware and spyware.
* Download and install critical operating system updates.
* Defragment the hard drive's system and data files using specialized software.
* Restart the computer to refresh its memory (RAM).

For this plan to work properly requires that the computer be left running pretty much all the time. It is okay to turn it off if you leave town for vacation - but otherwise, leave it running! Computers do not use much electricity overall, but to help keep electricity usage as low as possible, we also change power usage settings to allow the least amount of power consumption possible. The trade-off is well worth it!
